The New York Stock Exchange was originated in1792, when 24 stock brokers of New York City and traders signed the Buttonwood Agreement. The collaboration of NYSE Group and Euronext in 2007 marked as a milestone for global financial markets. It brought the major marketplaces across Europe and the United States together, the institution which has a historical standing of more than four centuries. The collaboration is the largest of its kind and made a real global marketplace. Highest volume day: 5,799,792,281 shares on August 16, 2007, Lowest volume day: 31 shares on March 16, 1830.
